I don’t check the mail very often, so it’s probably been sitting there for a few days, but I received my first two rolls of 127 film for the Brownie Reflex today!

I’ll be running around snapping (daylight) pics with my little vintage baby for the next couple of weeks… then I’ll have to find someone to develop the film for me.

Argh. Hopefully University Camera in I.C. will be able to point me in the right direction; for some reason I’m reluctant to send the film off in the mail even though I use PhotoWorks.com for all my Advantix film and never worry about it.

On another topic, I have to say I’m amazed at what people think they can get for junk they find in their dad’s/uncle’s/grandmother’s attic/basement/garage! Since I got this old Kodak I’ve been watching eBay for a flash attachment, and let me tell you this particular camera is everywhere. You could go to eBay right now and buy twenty or thirty of them! There seems to be a never-ending supply of Kodak Brownie Reflex Synchros out there!

Yet people open bidding on them at $9.99 and say “Low open bid!” in their auctions. As if! Don’t they know that they could find out what an item’s worth in less than five minutes, by using a nifty little Internet thingy called a search engine?

Now, my Brownie’s worth between $10 and $20 dollars… or whatever the market will bear, according to brownie-camera.com. (People, I’d think that if you’d bothered to look before posting your aution, you’d’ve noticed that this old camera is neither rare nor valuable! Open the damn bidding at $0.99, folks! Sheesh!) I feel quite proud of the bargain I got: I paid $5 for the thing.

Anyway, wish me luck on my flash attachment auction. Hopefully I’ll get the thing for three bucks.
