In which you tell me what to do!

I want movie recommendations. From YOUSE, my babies!

If you use Netflix, befriend me (I’m goblinbox, of course) and recommend stuff. And if you don’t use Netflix, leave me a comment and tell me what to watch!

Thank you. *smooch*

Eastern Promises just came out on DVD. Viggo Mortenson is ridiculously hot. And there’s the steam bath scene.

Hot! Steam bath scene! Dude. -m

We just watched Evenings with Natasha Richardson, Toni Colette, Claire Danes, Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and Vanessa Redgrave. It is a total chick flick, but very well acted and a tear jerker at moments.

The other movie we just saw is a bit Masterpiece Theater, but it is very well acted, and good on a cold winter’s night “Mrs. Palfrey at the Clairmont” with Joan Plowright and the incredibly sexy young British actor, Rupert.

    ‘k thx! -m

If you’re into the award season I would suggest No Country for Old Men and or Lust Caution

I’m *never* into the award season. I want to be the kind of person who is, but I never am. Maybe next year! -m

and just to be contrary I really hated Evenings and I hated History of Violence soooo much that I’m not sure I would be able to go see Eastern Promises although I hear its better than History….

    You? Contrary? 😉 -m

  6. If you haven’t seen it already, I would recommend Capote. Just watched it on DVD a couple of weeks ago, it’s really well-acted, scripted and a great watch!

    ‘k thx! -m

Children of Men – The best sci-fi.
Sunshine – Some pretty decent sci-fi.
    The Hoax – Fun drama.
You Kill Me – Awesome Dramady. Indie.
    Winter Passing – Drama. Indie.
Mr. Brooks – Eh… why not? It’s OK I guess.
Death Proof – Quentin, worth a look.
Spice World – The best movie ever. Don’t rent, OWN!

I thought History of Violence was a great movie. You can’t go wrong with Ed Harris. The guy’s a badass.

Evenings I could only stand about 32 minutes of.

Idiocracy was super funny. A Mike Judge flick.

    K thx! -m

i’m currently going thru the seasons of ‘weed’ that are on dvd. fuckin’ hysterical, mush. you really should add it to your queue. hard to get the tv time, though, what with the folks watching every single ‘sopranos’ episode… TWICE. (yeah, i’m still in limbo…)

I’ve heard folks love that ‘Weed’ show. Mebbie I’ll check it out. -m
