Now that things seem settled, it’s time to make the site look better.

To that end, I’ve got a little dev area set up and I’m working on a new look. I took a layout from one of those free stylesheet sites (movablestyle.com) and am tweaking it. Right now it’s boxy, dark, and fugly. Maybe I’ll work on it more tomorrow.

This place – MP3Search.Ru – Great MP3 Music Archive! – sells songs for a dime each – some albums are a dollar apiece. Can this possibly be legal? I’m curious, but ya gotta give ’em $20 at a time. Hmm.

Monthly category archives in my blog now match the individual archives. This means that when you click on, say, April 2004, you no longer feel like you’ve been redirected to another site entirely because it’s all matchy-watchy. You like this very much. Trust me.

I also tweaked the style sheet for Iowa Chicks Knitting. Apparently this was done for CSS practice because in spite of all the time I spent doing it, it does not look better. Just different. *sigh*

I went to Wincustomize this morning to dowload a nice wallpaper for Fall. Reading their index page, I discovered that members can now have their own subdomain pages (neato!), WindowBlinds 4.4 is out (cool!), and there’s another IE exploit going around (hurumph).

So I went to September 2004 Security Update for JPEG Processing (GDI ) to check it out, and was even gonna download the fix like a good bunny. Except I couldn’t, my IE permissions are apparently too stringent (I have it set on “Medium”) for the appropriate ActiveX controls to run to find out what updates I need.

Did I mention that I switched browsers the other day? LOL!

The new Rants 6 default skin, Aurora, has been updated today with a new logo and various new icons. Please change to it if you haven’t already. It’s matchie-watchie!

I got sick of all the spam. And the bounces on messages I didn’t even send. Argh.

Therefore, I have disabled all my old email addresses. All of ’em. Every single last one. My new address is posted in Rants, and of course you can always reach me using Rants’ messaging feature or the Feedback form.

Damn spammers. I hate them!

I built a shared blog for knitting projects. It probably won’t get a huge amount of action (considering how slowly I knit!), but at the very least it will give us a place to store online patterns and such. And yes, it is quite pink.
