Cell Phone Phree Zone Til Friday

Brett’s cell phone and mine are disconnected. I hope to be able to pay the bill on Friday and get them turned back on.

If you need to reach me during the day, call me at LISCO (Tuesday through Thursday). Brett can be reached on Jimbo or Brady’s phones during work times.

Mondays, Fridays, and evenings you can try the house number. I turned the fax machine off and the answering machine on, so you should be able to get through.

I can’t believe how weird I feel without a working cell. Grrr. I got next month’s bill. With what I’m behind on now, and the next month, it’s well over $300 and I’ve already paid $160 this month!

The Mook cell phones are disconnected until Friday or Monday, so we’ll be even harder than usual to reach. You can try the house phone (which is a fax line) or just drive on out.

SPB Pocket Plus

spb_pckpls.gif A surprizing bennie of being a PPC skinner: I got a piece of free software sent to me today! Free, I tell you!

Spb is looking for people to compete in their skinning contest, so apparently they spammed a few skinners from Wincustomize and gave us free copies of their software so we could make skins! How cool is that?

It’s, like, the coolest thing ever, that’s how cool!

Outta Town for the Weekend – Halleluia!

I’m going to a Benedictine nunnery in Kansas this weekend. On purpose! With Tahmi and Anna! And I’m gonna rest, and enjoy the quiet, and meditate, and pray, and go to church four times a day, and eat little old lady food in the cafeteria, and in general have a rockin’ time.

(Is it strange that I call visiting a nunnery a “rockin’ time,” and would, without batting an eye, call something like living out of a station wagon and spending three days on hard drugs a “rockin’ time”? Snort! This is the contradiction that is the Mushlette! Behold my complexity!)

I’ve been cleaning house like a mad woman since 8 o’clock this morning, now I’m online uploading pics of my latest knitting project, and fixing the bid/quote sheet on prairieagcoop’s site.

Next: the dishes, packing, a shower, and a trip to Atchison. Whee!

…Would it be tacky of me to mention, in passing, that my adorable hubby and I went to bed at 7:30 last night, and stayed there until we got up for a water/cig break at 9:45, nudge nudge wink wink? Whoopee! I LOVE MAKING UP!!!

Down in the dumps

I got the Jeep back yesterday. The battery was stone cold dead, so I had the guy put the charger on it. It started, but then the fan cowl wasn’t properly affixed so everything was rattling until it was screwed down.

It overheated on the drive home. Coolant on the ground, steam escaping around the hood.

Jeep = Not Fixed.

Back to the shop.

Brett said he put nearly a gallon of water in it this morning before I drove it back to Irvin’s. It didn’t overheat on the morning commute, but we dropped it off anyway ’cause clearly it’s not fixed yet. Sigh.

At least Brett’s truck is running well.

Weekend Update

Weekend blowouts, vehicles that don’t run, and the left tonsil from hell: a weekend in the life of the Mushlette. Argh!

Brett and I had our annual blowout last weekend. If you’ve been reading this blog for any while, you already know the topic. If you haven’t, here’s a brief synopis:

Generally, I do my contributions to the household, he does his, we laugh and talk and have fun and enjoy a really great marriage. Then we both stop, and it gets weird and nasty. Then we talk about it and feel better. Rinse and repeat.

The fight’s always the same: he gets mad ’cause I’m slacking on my duties, and during The Talk finds out that I’m slacking because he hasn’t accomplished any of the things I’ve asked for in the past 3/6/9/12 months. Then he feels as much the asshole as I do, and from there we realize we really love each other, and it’s actually horribly theraputic and wonderful and against my every intention is teaching me how to communicate with an actual male-type person.
