goblinbox

gobbie

n., slang. Any kind of device (computer, PDA, cell phone, GameBoy, iPod, or television) that relentlessly sucks up all of your time and attention. If you're reading this, you're utilizing a goblinbox right now. You might even have a S.O. who wishes you weren't pasted to the goblinbox who's hollering, "Turn off that blasted goblinbox and come to bed this very instant!"

Sweet Earth Tiles

I just built a little site and since it will be only one blog and one user, I installed the latest version of MT. You know, just for fun. I love it! MT 3.0 rawks!

ammaiowa.org

My latest webmistress gig is now up and running:

ammaiowa.org

I used MT in a new way – more as a layout management app than a content management app… I took out a lot of MT’s built-in stuff. It seems to have worked out pretty well.

goblinbox.com

spring_gb.gifToday the ‘box is green, in honor of what I hope will soon be an early spring. (There’s snow on the ground outside, but hope springs eternal.)

I used a fixed wallpaper backgroud, and edited a stylesheet from movablestyle.org. I think it’s pretty busy, but it’s less boring than the white terror I’ve had up since moving to this server.

It’s greeny! Do ya like it?

edensharvest.net

My latest website gig: Eden’s Harvest Birth & Well Woman Center’s new website is up and runnng!

steenhoekappraisal.com

Look! I made this! I built another website! It’s Steenhoek Appraisal, Inc..

I built it thru work, not freelance. But I’m putting it in my portfolio anyway. (My goodness, who needs to redesign her portfolio page?!)

iowachicksknitting.com

In an effort to make my life as complicated as possible, I’ve reserved iowachicksknitting.com [note: this link may not work outside the LISCO network until DNS is propegated across the webspace] and am planning to move the knitting blog to its own domain. Since I’m forced to use the Berkeley Db on LISCO’s servers (rather than MySQL), this should prove to be a total pain. Whee!

grandorleanshotel.com

I was hired by Grand Orleans in Burlington to build them a web site. Before I could even find out what they wanted, I slapped up a few pages so there’d be something there while I went on vacation to the Telluride Blues ‘n Brews fest.

When I got back, the guy who’d hired me was no longer working there, and the new manager wasn’t ready yet to continue. Since I’d only been paid a portion of the bid and everybody seemed happy, the site was never finished.

Prairie Ag Coop is a granary in Mt. Union, IA. I had an incredibly fun time the day I went there to take digital pictures for their web site!

amma-fairfield.org

The satsang’s domain name, amma-fairfield.org, is expired. I registered it at 000domains.com a year ago, and we quit hosting our original domain name, ammachi-fairfield.org.

The admin contact is listed at webmaster@ammachi-fairfield.org, so basically we didn’t get the renewal notice.

Now we’re in the process of having to fax the registrar with a well-documented request to change the email address to something that we can actually RECEIVE so that we can request the login info, login, and renew the domain.

It’s a holy pain in the ass – and I can barely even assist ’cause I’m sick and I ain’t got no ‘net connection from the farm. (I’m doing all this blogging from the office; I came to pick up my check and view my piled-up email.)

Waaah!

carrolllumber.com

logolumber.jpgCarroll Lumber and Carroll Design Studio (Fairfield, Ottumwa) hired me to build their website.

I took digital pictures of their showroom, met with them twice, and now their site’s done.

Behold: carrolllumber.com.
