In which I get a third package.

This morning I received my 2Gb RAM stick and used my trusty BMI pocket knife to install it into the Eee notebook.

Yay!

Okay, I’ve just gotta know. What in the holy hell is a BMI pocket knife, and why did you need one to plug in a RAM stick?

BMI is the name of the company I work for. A pocket knife is a pocket knife. A BMI pocket knife is a branded pocket knife. And I used it ’cause it had a screwdriver in it! -m

So I’m taking this OOP/Java class, and the instructor starts talking about how cheap memory is compared to what it used to be – and he says something about being able to get a 10G thumb drive for 14.99 (slight exaggeration, methinks) at the corner Radio Shack. Anyways, got me reminiscing about when I got my 526Mb thumb drive for $30 (including $20 instant rebate), and how that was a great deal five years ago. And that was a HUGE amount of memory in a tiny little thing five years ago.

I think I need a new thumb drive.

Also, I’m rebuilding my desktop. Totally fun project. That thing’ll be kickin soon as I get the power supply replaced. Replaced the Mobo and dvd drive and added 4Gb ram and put in a dual processor. All for under 200. The new case is aquarium-like.

Yes, I need to blog more. Or again. Or whatever. Pirating your space, here.

    Hai!!!

Moar RAM is lovely! (Teh BF has just rebuilt his machine, and the thing has SIX FUCKING GIGS OF RAM IN IT.) I have two 2Gb thumbdrives; I buy them because they’re cute, but I never really use them for anything. -m

That waterlogged description is just too awesome! Plus a weekend of lazy sounds wonderful.
