In which I bore my non-knitting readers half to death.

I’ve been knitting myself a hat. This is the third hat that I’ve started for myself; the other two I gave away because when they were finished they weren’t my hat.

A Hat... For Me!

This hat is brown and pink, which are totally my colors. It’s not fuzzy, but it’s not acrylic either — it’s wool. I think I might get to keep this one! It looks great in broad daylight, but the colorway kinda falls apart in indoor lighting and ends up looking weird… Of course, if you know me in person, you know I often put clothes on over my pajamas and go out in public, and that I’ve been known to wear brown shoes with black purses. So it’s not like I’m a paragon of style.

In other news, I had an interesting talk with a couple of friends last night and the end result is that I’m going to go apply here on Monday before I drive up to Iowa City to register at Kelly Services. They’re not actively hiring, but from what I heard omgwtfbbq do they ever need me.

Non-knitters are still interested in this post, especially the first few sentences. It tells them “Hey, maybe I could get her to knit ME a hat!”

Look at all that purdy stockinette. It hardly gets any sexier.

It gets much sexier. You’re sexier, for instance. 😉 -m

much luck with the job. every place needs you, they’re just too stupid to know that, and if they’re too stupid then they’d annoy you anyway.

love the colours of the new hat.

    Yay! -m

HAH! I just finished a hat (well, except for the seaming. I’ll do that tomorrow … er, today … since it’s after midnight).

Hm. I should go to bed.

    *smooches*

I hate seaming! Which is why I knit in the round. -m

I love that yarn! The colorway is so you!
I don’t do the hat thing for me, but the kid likes one now and again.
Working on the sweater, drinking a latte and apparently my kid is in yesterday’s courier.

For what? For doing WHAT? -m

Little off subject but last night I went out to a bar/club/resturant that had an open mike. The core band members were very talented, playing jazz, C&W, rock, heavy metal, everything asked of them. I was impressed. Those that came up to sing did a great job too. My new favorite place in Mazatlan.

Why must you rub it in? You’re retired and having fun, I get it. I’m not and I’m not. So hush up or send me a ticket. 😉 -m

“When they were finished they weren’t my hat.” *L* Love it. 🙂 Seems like everything I’ve ever knit for myself has ended up that way…good thing I like the act of knitting more than I like knitted stuff, I guess.

I’m the other way. I hate knitting for other people. I’m really bad at it. I owe this one friend two sheep from, like, two years ago still. P.S. I added you to my blogroll ’cause bitch, you fuh-neh! 😉 -m

The article was about her being a person of Progress 2007.
She made Battalion Commander as a Junior and is already accepted to college and has her scholarships lined up.
Needs 6 friggin credits to graduate that thing they profess is a high school here … excuse me while I choke on the thought.

    Heh. 😉 -m
